18th century panniers

5 (1 Review)

Panniers are undergarments that were worn in the 18th century to create a wide, voluminous shape in women's skirts. They were constructed with hoops or steel bones to create a framework that extended the width of the skirt.

The panniers were worn under the skirt and were tied around the waist, creating a structured shape that emphasized the hips and made the waist look smaller.

composition: cotton canvas, steels

one size fits all

you can wear it as two side pockets or merge them together with attached straps inside the pockets

Gorgeous, good craftsmanship, exactly as described. Sturdy as well, which is necessary with the heavy fabric of the dress.
