Versailles Robe à la française

🧚🏻‍♂️🧚🏻‍♂️Our private label - Ann.telier 🧚🏻‍♂️🧚🏻‍♂️

Robe à la française, also known as the grand habit de cour and "sack-back gown," is a style of dress that was popular in the 18th century. It was characterized by a loose, flowing fit, with the back of the dress pleated and draped from the shoulders to the floor. The front of the dress often featured a tightly fitted bodice and a wide skirt, which could be supported by hoops or panniers to create a bell-shaped silhouette.  The style originated in France and became popular throughout Europe and America during the 18th century. It is now considered a classic example of 18th-century fashion.
